Racism is always the weapon.

Umno use Chinese as enemy to unite malays, just like unite Malaysians against Singaporeans. Hopefully, the younger generation malays learn the truth and not be blind by them.

I think all BN Chinese party is shit-head who are just Umno lap dog. Wagging tail as Umno speak. Pathetic.

Government only pays to built mosque, have they ever pay a cent to built temple or church! Malaysians do have freedom of religion but to what extent? I think we all know how "true" is that.

The racism will always stay because Umno is so one sided even though they say they treat all races equal.

The politicians want the public to keep feeling a bit jealous, hatred of each others. They lied to the public in believing the need of NEP by showing biased statistic. How many others actually benefit from it?

What their leader did actually does not benefit the malay community as a whole, only the rich and connected malays.

Public listed companies must have at least 30% hold by malays. Indeed in reality the percentage is higher, but why the malay community is still lagging? Who can be part of the 30%? The rich and connected malays? Yes!

The politicians are afraid that if the public united and "forced" BN (or should we say Umno) out of political field.

Yes, any politicians that continue to play the racist card - Beware! Your days are numbered!

If anything, the malay race's main downfall is their inability to compete without crutches. Say what you will against the Chinese and Indians, but unless the malays look upon ourselves in the mirror, we shall see who our "real" enemies are.

Best thing is Malaysia history being altered to say all hero in Malaysia are only malays. Pathetic! This will only further split all of us.

If they managed to unfortunately cause another race riot, do you think at the end of the day - life will be better for the malays? The answer is no - race riot or tension is like a civil war - it weaken the country and invite outside interference.

Malaysia to be developed status is a joke in year 2020. Developed status is not on economically but politically and socially.

I am glad, reading through the replies (to this idiotic article) that there are some sane, rational malays, but I am also saddened and frightened and most of all, amazed by the sheer bigotry and shallowness of some of the people here.

Those who feel hurt and challenged should not just sit back and complain, stand up and do something about it.

We are fellow countrymen should stand up and achieve our visions together.

In history, teacher said that we must accept this injustice because the malays let us to live here as one of their citizens, if it wasn't of their tolerance, we wouldn't be here - during the time before we independence, they keep objects of we existence on this country until they achieve an agreement, where they are the more superior ones.

Shit……….Brainwash, nowadays even the text books about our country history can't be trusted, they intended to brainwash the younger generation so that they might thought that it was the malays who are the ones who made Malaysia like this today!

But what can we do since such issue is sensitive in our country, talking against it will cost we severely……….And they say, Malaysia is a democratic world.

Just because malays are the majority doesn't mean that the minorities should be oppressed. Of course there are some good people from that ladder - I have met a few awesome and smart malays……….the weird thing although is that they all went to Chinese schools. I am not sure if that is actually related, but I thought that was very weird.

But I think the special privileges should be removed. They were only supposed to be there (as agreed by other parties) that the malays would receive the special privileges for a set number of years. This set number of years is over!

As a brain drainer whom has fled to Australia, here are my reasons for leaving.

(1) Better government. Australia government is way less wasteful than Malaysia government. I am rather tired of seeing my tax money going into white elephants and useless projects while our Malaysia schools are getting neglected. Oh, and my tax returns are guaranteed to be paid back in 10 days. Usually I will get my tax return in 4 to 5 working days.

(2) Better lifestyle. I cannot own a car and still be able to get around Australia. I am looking forward to do my masters degree in a proper university environment and being supported by the government through PELS scheme and tax deductions.

(3) Better traffic. Besides Sydney, traveling around cities in Australia is quite a relaxing task. You don't have to deal with some corrupt policemen or crazy drivers.

(4) Things are actually affordable here. You might have to pay 10 bucks for a plate of 'char koay teow', but the size of the plate you can share is with 3 people in Malaysia. Oh, and you get the big prawns too.

Like someone said, I go back to Malaysia for the 3Fs - family, friends and food. If I do stay in Malaysia, I do not see a future for myself or my family. My children will be discriminated at school. Education will be extremely expensive. And I will die earlier due to all the pollution in the air.

As many doctors leave Malaysia every year, there are more illegal Indonesian workers coming in and became citizens so easily. The country does not only flush away good brains but also refill with……….(sigh) - this is an insane country.

No no, this is not insane. We did great things to the world you know, like providing brains to others, and accepting rubbish from others. That is a Malaysia Boleh!

Yes, the present malay generation need motivations and a lot of serious one too. A true role model to inspire them to greater height. There are still clear mind but are they just the trace of the dying old guards? Yet what do we have now as role models?

The underhanded tactics in politics orchestrations by racial bigotry, the immoral unethical accumulation of national wealth mostly via rent seeking, the distorted interpretations of man-and-god relationship via Arabilization.

These are the role models that the current malays are exposed to. So, what and how can you expect the malays will get out of these chronic Umno-malays behaviours?

The trace of survival is in-born within every human. This character will demonstrate itself even more in time of crisis and remain as a life-long reminder after one goes through the crisis and live on.

So, it is all come down to will the malays want the easy way out or to fight for it in earnest, despite all the challenges in monetary, politics and religions temptations, along the way pushing all the obstacles and kindred ostracize aside?

Where are the younger malay intelligentsias that will lead your people out of these woods? Are they all staying out of the country while the struggling old guards shouting like crazy just as the tidak-apa-stance play its drum call to the doom march?

The older guards of the malays, know the fruits of success through hard works and struggles. Unfortunate majority of the younger generation malays just want to have the easy way out. Thus you have the present scenario in Umno.

I am actually a Malaysian but I was brought up in Perth.

You could say that my family (which is non-malay) was part of the brain drain of Malaysia society. My father was the 1st surgeon in my home state. He was educated as part of the Colombo Plan between Malaysia and Australia.

Many of his medical friends do not live in Malaysia any more. My friend's father also received a scholarship under the Colombo Plan and is a mathematics nerd. Many of my cousins now live abroad - one whole family (which consists of pharmacists and doctors) now live in the UK.

I have a cousin who is a lecturer in geography at a Californian university. This cousin was the chair of his faculty for several years. We also have a family friend who is Indian Malaysian who was a journalist in Malaysia before, but now is a lecturer in at my university.

The reason for us leaving Malaysia was because (1) we could and (2) better education system. You know how much Asians place importance on education!

I think the whole special privileges thing is a sham. The set years of having the special privileges is over!

This is the politics of finding blame for own weakness or laziness.

What I hate most is when those jealous and racist malays see a well developed township owned and populated by Chinese, and start rambling that the Chinese grabbed the wealth from the malays.

The NEP was abused to enrich only a small portion of the malay population. Now, the pie is shrinking due to global factors and the political elite is looking for scapegoats - and guess what - the Chinese are always blamed, as if working hard and saving is sinful.

As a matter of fact just like Mahathir once stated the government has been giving a lot of opportunities to the malays. The other races prosper because they constantly create markets and grab opportunities for their businesses "without depending on any extra incentives by any governmental sector".

I think this country is wasting a lot of time and energy on this racial thing - actually is an income disparity syndrome, the have and have-nots regardless of race.

Last time all first world. If Malaysia was a body, malay was the bone. Today very sadly, malay is the sick appendix, if remove it, Malaysia will be healthier.

It is a tiring affair to talk of the problems of malays. The problems are too many.

We talk and talk and give resolutions to government to do, i.e. we talk but are not doing anything about it and rely on others.

The typical discussion would be to say malay is weak in this and that. And the immediate inference is to have what is missing. Too often we are fixing symptoms and not problems.

We have tried and pump money into so many programs but we have yet to create the malay industrial and commercial class.

In any corporate strategy implementation, the key aspect lies in leadership and corporate culture.

For a change, I believe let us have an action oriented discussion. Maybe let us start to think and act independently. With a realistic appreciation of the parameters, only then we act more realistically and prudently.

In the end, we the common people must not be fooled by the political elite. We are risking our very life.

Malays are lazy, narrow-minded, racist, in the real world. But they blame Chinese, Indians, white man, for many things. No wonder many person label malays as disgrace animals.

It is good for malays to go back to jungle or Africa, in order to avoid so many problems. Enough said.

Like what one said, your Umno racists label is to just rob the benefits and rights of the poor and unassuming malays, who think that you are fighting for their cause. Whom are you trying to bluff?

There is nothing to be proud of Ketuanan Melayu. If at all, it is only the personification of the ills facing the malays in general today.

Minus the nation building and economics, you malays are left with only politics - right before and after independence. Creeps like you should find out and address this - talked and discussed problem which does not seem to go away.

If even after almost 50 years, and after all the generous handouts, you are still a bitter man, lamenting at our Chinese and Indians successes, then go back and do a bit of homework to find out why you need to talk less and work more.

Everyone knows that they worked and struggled to build a nation, I mean sweated it out. Lest you forget history, the Chinese and Indians came here to build a country which was largely neglected. Ask yourself why?

Their sweat and pains may have been forgotten by selfish creatures cloaking in disguise in the likes of you, but this Malaysia nation shares a rich history of the "other races" contributing to the nation building, which you cannot be proud of.

Well, there are always guys like me who have tried and have been continuously denied the opportunity to "serve" this country, basically with the race card thrown at me.

Look around yourself and tell me as honestly as you can - be whether under such circumstances, I would have reasons to love this country? Unless you have a different definition for that word "love"!

To further prolong the grips of the Umno racists over the greed others, especially the Chinese, is been made the scapegoat for all things.

A fear that had has no concrete socio-economical standings. It is more psychological. For that all the Malaysians are been pull and push into the self-dug hole of only Ketuanan Melayu matters most. All things are secondary.

He forgets that what he has been written is just like the saying: spitting skywards and get own face smeared.

Such a mind is wasted by simple forms rather than the deep down substances, show this guy's mind is as empty and twisted. The saddest part is that Umno racist can write better, indicating a higher level of 'education' but more tunnel understanding of historical facts. His education is wasted, and another basket case of form over substance.

From what Umno racist has been written, it can be seen that these malays are still at the balls despite of the facts that the globalization will eventually making their factitious claim obsolete.

Many would like to dispute and point to whatever reports that claimed glories for all the developments stated for Malaysia now. There is only one word for this spurious cry - form over substance. Please think deeper to reflect this.

Just think about how Philippine goes down the drain under Marcos government. Sadder still, we are not catching up with the top. Instead we keep comparing ourselves with the bottom and sliding down the rank as we "proudly" proclaimed these achievements. How pathetic can one be!

Many countries have tried to develop an IT industry much earlier, and with more and better resources and better government than us Malaysia, and have not succeeded.

The chance of us succeeding given our handicaps was never good and will never be good. It begins with poor politics, then poor government, then poor education, and then poor business environment (e.g. small market).

What is remarkable to me is that some people have managed to make good money and build companies despite our problems - Mobif, Jobstreet, Green Packet, etc. These people proof that the government is more in the way for developing the industry than helping it.

In fact, the government would do better to get out of the way rather actually have any sort of grand plan like MSC. The real only way the government can help is by having open competitive bidding in government procurement of IT and putting competent people in charge of that.

Nothing else they do would really mean anything much. I would argue all the spending on grand projects, computer labs, computer courses etc, amount to basically waste.

There is no hope of the MSC really succeeding, but we can still benefit from better IT and that perhaps is, would be better because at least it means less waste.

The truth is there - it is no real strategy. MSC was never a great idea - it was an opportunity for government spending more than anything else and as Bill Gates told us very politely, it would not work because of that.

A couple of years ago, there was this idea of attracting Malaysians overseas to come back to run Malaysia GLCs. Among my extensive overseas network of business and personal associates abroad, they discussed it and unanimously shot down the idea.

The reason? Quote: "Smart people can't stand inconsistencies in fact they rely on it. Malaysia politics make things too inconsistent to do the kind of work they do."

You want to know why they will never attract the best in public service? At one time, we all agreed what the future of Malaysia was and will always be - secular, rule of law, multi-racial, meritocracy. Today, even among those in power, there is no agreement on these basic things.

Why would the best people subject themselves to these inconsistencies? Maybe naivety but how long will that last and how many?

For every one brain that comes in, fifty brains will leave the country. With the affirmative policies in place, do not talk about attracting the brain. For decades, Malaysia was losing its best people to developed countries and taking rejects from developing countries.

Please forget about bring back those lost brains, while we can keep those bright students now and love them and care for them!

First, the country and government has to figure out what it wants to be first before it can really retain the best, otherwise we are merely exploiting those who do not have better choices elsewhere.

I still remember of my junior wanted to serve in our Malaysia air force and he was able to design some fighters, but instead he was not retained, he headed south Singapore and he was happily married down there, has a happy family and no way back!

People with the best brains inadvertently mean they know how to think. Therefore they are wise enough not to choose Malaysia as their destination, as it could spell disaster to their reputation as we work differently. Singapore will still be the ideal landing point of such calibre people.

Malaysia will forever be suffering from a massive "brain drain" so as long the Umno-led government keeps in place the malay agenda. To forego the agenda is too costly sacrifice which the Umno-malays cannot make. A clear symptom of an inferiority complex.

I really cannot understand why the malays, after given so much privileges, can still have so much to complain. It seems that you guys complain about everything.

You complain that the non-malays are insensitive but here I can see so many articles that are not just insensitive but totally rude and arrogant to the non-malays.

You malays should try to understand how people (non-malays) feel before criticizing others. If you are unhappy with others, please remember that there are many others who are also unhappy with you.

But I believe everything is mutual - so if you want respect from others, you should first respect others and also yourself.

If you always think that the non-malays are lucky to be in Malaysia, the non-malays would also have the same thinking that - the malays are so lucky as all their needs - mosques, schools, university fees, are subsidized mostly by taxes collected from the non-malays.

I think Malaysia is the only country where its people keep on talking about "special rights" while other countries keep moving on.

This is a very sad situation in Malaysia. 49 years after independence, the state of mentality of the Malaysians is still racially polarized.

Based on the postings made by a lot of people here, the feeling of animosity between the races could be worse than the situation before independence.

Each race is questioning the loyalty of the others. Chinese running back to China. Indians running back to India. Malays running back to Indonesia. Ask yourself this question - can anyone of you go back to these countries where your ancestors came from?

There is nothing wrong and to be too proud of multi-racial in our country, and look at Australia - they have their own "bumi", Chinese, English, German, Greek, Indian, Italian, South American, Vietnamese, etc, they people have more racial in their country, why do they live so peacefully? Because of equality, I wonder why our country is still so……….blah.

We can't afford to give BN a 90% majority again. It will be a suicidal move towards destroying the future for Malaysia. Very disappointed indeed!
